Switzerland applies mutatis mutandis to Bulgaria and Romania its Declaration concerning the recognition of diplomas in midwifery and general care set out in Annex III to the Protocol of 26 October 2004 to the Agreement of 21 June 1999 between the Swiss Confederation, of the one part, and the European Community and its Member States, of the other, on the free movement of persons. The Declaration reads as follows: Switzerland reserves the right to recognize holders of diplomas in midwifery and general care falling under Articles 4(b) and 4(c) of Directive 77/452/EEC and Articles 5(a) and 5(b) of their qualifications with Directives 77/453/EEC and 80/155/EEC. For this purpose, Switzerland may require the completion of an aptitude test or an adaptation period.
