  Depositary communication The Secretariat of the Energy Charter notified the government of the Portuguese Republic, in its capacity as depositary of the Energy Charter Treaty, that at its ad hoc meeting on 24 June 2022 the Conference of the Energy Charter decided, as a consequence of the substantive violation of Article 18 of the Energy Charter Treaty and the principles of the European Energy Charter by Belarus in relation to Russian aggression against Ukraine, to suspend the provisional application by Belarus of the Energy Charter Treaty.
