In implementation of the provisions of article 35, paragraph 4 of the Constitution
of the International Labour Organization, the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
– in agreement with the government of the Netherlands Antilles – accepts on behalf
of the Government of the Netherlands Antilles the obligations of Convention no. 25
concerning Sickness Insurance for Agricultural Workers (as amended by the Final Articles
Revision Convention, 1946 and the Final Articles Revision Convention, 1961) adopted
in Geneva on 12 June 1927.
Acceptance for Suriname is, for the time being, considered premature in view of the
fact that Surinamese legislation has not yet been aligned with the provisions of the
Convention, while the financial consequences of implementing the Convention cannot
yet be gauged.
