For the treaty relations between EFTA countries and EEC member states with regard
to enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters, see the Convention of
Lugano (EVEX) of 16 September 1988 (treaty number 003224). The consolidated text can
be found in OJEC C 27 of 26 January 1998. Regulation (EC) No. 44/2001 of 22 December
2000 replaces the present Convention as of 1 March 2002 in accordance with article
68, paragraph 1, except with respect to the territories of the Member States which
fall within the scope of the present Convention and which, in accordance with article
299 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union fall outside the scope
this Regulation. (see Trb. 2005, 65) In accordance with articles 1 and 2 of the Treaty on the European Union and the Protocol
attached to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union regarding the position
of Denmark, the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 44/2001 of 22 December 2000 are
not binding for, nor applicable in Denmark. Regulation (EC) No. 44/2001 is supplemented as of 31 May 2002 by Regulation (EC) No.1346/2000
of 29 May 2000 (OJ L 160 of 30 June 2000, p. 1 ff), as of 1 August 2004 by Regulation
(EC) No. 2201/2003 of 27 November 2003 (OJ L 338 of 23 December 2003, p. 1 ff), amended
as of 30 January 2009 by Regulation 4/2009 of 18 December 2008 (OJ L 7 of 10 January
2009, p. 1 ff), as of 8 April 2009 by Regulation (EC) No. 280/2009 of 6 April 2009

of 18 June 2013 (OJ L 167 of 19 June 2013, p. 29).
