Comment
Jordan is Associate Member of the Organization. An Associate Member is not a contracting
party to COTIF.,The membership of Lebanon and Iraq was suspended by decision of the
General Assembly at its 4th session, Athens, 8 - 11 September 1997. The decision took
effect at the time the Final Document of the General Assembly was adopted, i.e. 11
September 1997. At the request of Syria, its membership was suspended by the Administrative
Committee at its 125th session, Berne, 29 – 30 June 2016. The suspension of Syria’s
membership took effect on 1 August 2016.
